Picnic in the Park 2024

Well last year we organised our picnic in the park for Cancer Care Javea and Lynwen Cancer Care Nurses – Costa Blanca, the sun shone and a great time was had by all. This year it couldn’t have been wetter – “Party in the pouring rain” was a much better title. But we had a great day. I would like to thank every single person who volunteered, bought tickets and turned up on the day, came to watch their little and loved ones performing. The atmosphere of the day was incredible and I was blown away by the strong will and stoicism of everyone. I ache everywhere today and did a grand total of 22000 steps yesterday but it was all worth it.
Honestly to anyone and everyone involved Thank you from the bottom of my heart, without days like yesterday – myself and my wonderful team Paula Reed Alison Day, Aitziber Beramendi Echeondo would not be able to do what we do. Every cent raised will go directly to helping people here on the Marina Alta whose lives have been affected by cancer.
The final amount raised will be announced as soon as we get the returns from the drinks company and the jam jars counted but I can safely say we smashed last year 😊🥂 .
I would also like to personally thank all of our sponsors and entertainers too, as without them we would never have raised the amount of money that we did.
Gemma Broad -from Vives Pons who sponsored the Hot Dog stand, Lucy Hobbs and all the wonderful people at Vicens Ash who sponsored the venue,
Phil Bennett and the crew at MiAgua/MiSolar who sponsored the water,
The lovely Kelly Drabbe from Vu who sponsored the Tombola,
Javea Tanatorio – who sponsored Soulomonics,
Our brilliant accountants Monkerud Millenium who sponsored the cakes and sweeties.
Andy Delderfield and AF runners who sponsored the 0.0 beer.
Casa Santonja Oficial – Carlos once again thank you for the use of your beautiful venue.
Marcella at Your Dream Wedding in Spain – thank you for all your continued support in making the event a success.
Our very own Maskeraid , Pam Small Fitsteps, and the wonderful kids from footworks for entertaining us so professionally and of course our professional acts Dave Lewis Soulomonics and Mick Dennison.
Most of all a massive thank you to Niamh OSheehan and your wonderful family because I know the amount of effort, stress and sweat that went into it, you are as always a star and one of the best things that has happened to me in a long time – thank you
See you all again next year I hope
