We pay tribute to a very special lady, Lyn Buntrock, who passed away on Monday 19th August 2019, after having to battle cancer since her return to the UK at the end of 2018.

Lynwen was born in Port Talbot, South Wales on 21 April 1960 where she spent her early years. At the age of 19 she met her husband Mark and shortly after moved to London where she put down her roots. She qualified as a nurse at the age of 20 and in various nursing roles, remained dedicated to helping other people throughout her life.

We had the great fortune that even in retirement she became our President of Cancer Care, Javea.  She showed constant commitment and did so much good work to help people in the local community on their journey through cancer and beyond.  She was a great mentor to new members of the committee and will be remembered by us with great admiration and thanks.  She was the instigator for the nursing side of our charity work and she will remain our inspiration and determination to continue.

Her husband Mark and her four children, Leah, Christopher, Emma and Megan were at the centre of everything she did. We thank them for making it easy for her to dedicate so much of her time to such charitable work.

We will remember her beautiful smile, her soft voice and her heart and soul full of strength and character. We will all miss her greatly.  She will never be forgotten and will always be part of the history of Cancer Care and all those lives she touched, giving inspiration and help.

Thank you Lyn.
