Help Jean to raise money for the charity

Cancer Care Javea are delighted and honoured to support Jean on her amazing adventureas she walks and fundraises for our charity. Read on to learn more about Jean’s personal story and fundraiser:
Hello everybody, As a fairly private person, this is quite difficult for me to do so I’ll keep it short.
Last year I was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer and underwent major surgery and radiotherapy. As someone who has always prided herself on good health and fitness, the whole experience was hugely traumatic for me.
I discovered that trauma is like a tsunami – it comes in waves, throwing you up in the air and then spitting you out on some Godforsaken shore that you don’t recognise. Fortunately, to deal with the aftermath and remind me of who and where I am, I got tremendous support from Cancer Care Javea in Spain.
So I’m delighted to report that I am now fit and well enough to walk the Camino de Santiago Portuguese route as a fundraiser for this charity (well, I hope so!) I leave on 24th September and I return on the of 3rd October. I’m walking from Viano do Castelo in Portugal to Pontevedra in Spain with a friend, 120 kilometres. This is about six days walking.
Please donate generously to this small local charity as their work is vital for others like me. Some people say I’m mad, and maybe I am (75 and still walking all over) but I just want to give something back and I know the charity will really appreciate your generosity.
Thank you all so much! Love Jean
