Berend Crans walk along the Camino

Berend Cras a Dutch resident from Javea has agreed to walk the Camino to help raise funds for the charity.

He began his walk on Sunday 10th April at Javea port supported by a group of walkers to Jesus Probre  on the first 10 kilometres of his 1200km pilgrimage to the city of Santiago de Compostela. Berend will be raising funds for Cancer Care Javea. When Berend and his fellow pilgrims arrived in Jesus Pobre at approximately 12 noon they were welcomed by live music, a tremendous cake sale (all proceeds to Cancer Care Javea) and  lots of happy smiling faces.  Later Berend was waved off as he set off alone on this challenge which will take him approximately 3 months, along the way he will be raising funds. If you would like to contribute go to the bottom of the page where there are options on how to donate.

The cake sale and raffle raised over 1655 euros. Many thanks to Niamh OSheehan who organised the event and to everyone who helped by attending and baking cakes.
