Our Lead Nurse Jayne had a welcoming and productive meeting with the AECC (Asociación Española Contra el Cáncer) in Valencia to discuss the current challenges faced by cancer patients after the DANA disaster. It was agreed that our €3190, all proceeds of our recent MoonWalk event, would be used to re-home patients receiving weekly treatment so they are closer to the hospital. Many patients cannot access the hospitals because their cars have been destroyed and public transport is still out of action. They are also funding taxi transport and providing psychological assistance to patients, who have been badly affected by the DANA disaster. They were extremely grateful for our financial contribution and we are delighted to be able to offer our “grano de arena” to help.
