A member of the association asked why it is not possible to extend the licence for the Gata location (licencia de apertura).

Jayne Nuttall explains that it is easier to keep he original licence and transfer it to CANCER CARE. She says that the decision was made, as the previous shop was very dangerous due to the fact that she got trapped in it because the door locked up while she was still inside and something from inside the location dropped on another nurse. Due to these situations, they took the decision to find a different place to rent, and found this location in Gata. The rent was agreed at 714 € per month and it was a lot better location to drop off furniture and household goods, while the previous location was 600€ a month rent.

A member suggests to apply for the licence to sell clothes in the future.

Niamh O´Sheehan sais that the profit on the sales of furniture is a lot higher than the profit on the sale of clothes.

Un miembro de la asociación pregunta por qué no es posible ampliar la actividad en la licencia de apertura del local sito en Gata.

Jayne Nuttall explica que es más fácil mantener la licencia original y transferirla a CANCER CARE. Ella dice que la decisión fue tomada, ya que la tienda anterior era muy peligrosa debido al hecho de que se quedó atrapada en ella porque la puerta se cerró con llave mientras ella todavía estaba dentro y algo del interior del local cayó sobre otra enfermera. Debido a estas situaciones, tomaron la decisión de buscar otro local para alquilar, y encontraron este local en Gata. El alquiler se acordó en 714 euros al mes y era un lugar mucho mejor para dejar muebles y enseres, mientras que el anterior local costaba 600 euros al mes de alquiler.

Un miembro sugiere solicitar la licencia para vender ropa en el futuro.

Niamh O’Sheehan dice que el beneficio de la venta de muebles es mucho mayor que el de la venta de ropa.

Se entregan a los asistentes 2 documentos que muestran las ventas de la tienda.

She explains about the “EOL” End of life assistance and a specific case that happened during the past year.

15:05 Explanation of the facts why the condition of the association being of “public utility” has been accepted by the town hall and also by the public health service but not by the central tax office.

It is suggested to promote the Gata shop in the existing shops in Javea.

Also it is suggested to buy a van or to try to get a squad of men, to move the furniture from the houses to the shop. It will be necessary for them to be insured as self-employed (autonomo).

Se sugiere promocionar la tienda de Gata en las tiendas existentes en Javea.

También se sugiere comprar una furgoneta o intentar conseguir una cuadrilla de hombres, para trasladar los muebles de las casas a la tienda. Será necesario que estén asegurados como autónomos.

5.Strategic Plan for 2025                                                                                                      5.Plan estratégico para el año 2025

15:34 Jayne talks about the strategic plan for the nurses 2025. There will be a new nurse who speaks English and increase the work hours of Aitxiber and Alison.

There is a meeting planned with Javea Town Hall, at the end of this week, to see if they are willing to support the nursing service.

Niamh talks about the strategy to grow the awareness of people about the existence of Cancer Care.

It is discussed that in the Female Focus articles, Podcast and coaching articles it is very important to explain the different situations of people suffering cancer, but without mentioning their names to protect their privacy

The idea of creating packages of Gold-Silver-Bronze members is discussed. This could be made public through Facebook, posters, a.s.o…she asks the members to get in touch with her if they would like to organize internal happenings like cake sales, open music nights, etc…

Niamh explains about the different challenges which will be organized during this year and mentions that the related information about the challenges will be published on the Facebook website.

16:00 Jeannette informs about the strategic objectives -retail- shops.

There is a data base coming up to inform customers about events and items needed and not needed.

It was asked if a Cancer Care Sign will be placed outside the Gata shop. This depends on the type of opening license Cancer Care will be able to get for this location.

15:34 Jayne habla del plan estratégico para las enfermeras 2025. Habrá una nueva enfermera que hable inglés y aumentarán las horas de trabajo de Aitxiber y Alison.

Hay una reunión prevista con el Ayuntamiento de Javea, a finales de esta semana, para ver si están dispuestos a apoyar el servicio de enfermería.

Niamh habla de la estrategia para concienciar a la gente de la existencia de Cancer Care.

Se discute que en los artículos de Female Focus, Podcast y artículos de coaching es muy importante explicar las diferentes situaciones de las personas que sufren cáncer, pero sin mencionar sus nombres para proteger su privacidad

Se discute la idea de crear paquetes de miembros Oro-Plata-Bronce. Esto se podría hacer público a través de Facebook, carteles, etc… pide a los miembros que se pongan en contacto con ella si quieren organizar eventos internos como venta de pasteles, noches de música al aire libre, etc….

Niamh explica los diferentes retos que se organizarán durante este año y menciona que la información relacionada con los retos se publicará en la página web de Facebook.

16:00 Jeannette informa sobre los objetivos estratégicos -comercios minoristas-

Se va a crear una base de datos para informar a los clientes sobre eventos y artículos necesarios y no necesarios a recibir por los donantes.

Se preguntó si se colocará un cartel de atención al cáncer en el exterior de la tienda de Gata. Esto depende del tipo de licencia de apertura que Cancer Care pueda conseguir para este local.

16:10 Dr. Climent Bataller takes the word to talk about ECMOR.

He explains that he totally supports the work done by Cancer Care and how important it is to make public the results of the research. He talks about official events from 2024 in London and Rome.

Then he explains the current situation, that the document containing the result from the research done, is now under review. He also mentions that a new student has been added to the team and that the samples from Biopsies (which search for cancer markers in blood)  will be analized from external labs, as this is more cost effective. Also they are trying to cooperate with more hospitals, in order to have access to more samples and cheaper tests.

It is asked if the old equipment will still be in use and Dr. Climent says yes, it will be in use and that they will not buy any new equipment at the moment.

16:10 El Dr. Climent Bataller toma la palabra para hablar de ECMOR.

Explica que apoya totalmente el trabajo realizado por Cancer Care y lo importante que es hacer públicos los resultados de la investigación. Habla de los actos oficiales de 2024 en Londres y Roma.

Luego explica la situación actual, que el documento que contiene el resultado de la investigación realizada, está ahora en revisión. También menciona que se ha incorporado un nuevo estudiante al equipo y que las muestras de las biopsias (que buscan marcadores de cáncer en la sangre) se analizarán en laboratorios externos, ya que es más rentable. También están intentando cooperar con más hospitales, para tener acceso a más muestras y pruebas más baratas.

Se pregunta si se seguirán utilizando los equipos antiguos y el Dr. Climent dice que sí, que se seguirán utilizando y que de momento no se van a comprar nuevos equipos.

7. Amendments to the Association Statutes. 7. Modificaciones en los Estatutos de la Asociación.

16:19 Jayne takes the word to explain about the amendments which need to be done to the associations Statutes, due to the missing status of public utility and about the necessary renewal of the volunteers contract in cooperation with the GVA.

It is mentioned that in clause nº 4 it explains who the beneficiaries will be as it says “cancer and other illness” this concept is considered as to extended. Jayne explains why it is important not to limit it only to “cancer” as it is sometimes necessary to attend related issues in hospital.

16:19 Jayne toma la palabra para explicar sobre las modificaciones que hay que hacer a los Estatutos de la asociación, debido a la falta del estatus de utilidad pública y sobre la necesaria renovación del contrato de voluntarios en colaboración con la GVA.

Se menciona que en la cláusula nº 4 se explica quienes serán los beneficiarios ya que dice «cáncer y otras enfermedades» este concepto se considera como a ampliado. Jayne explica porque es importante no limitarlo solo a «cáncer» ya que a veces es necesario atender temas relacionados en el hospital.
