On Saturday 4th December the Black Flame in Pedregar hosted a fund raiser in conjunction with “Gata Residential” for our Cancer Care Lynwen nurses.
Every year they choose a charity or Charities they want to support this year they chose Cancer Care as it was very personal for several of the residents. Not only do they want to raise lots and lots of money but make people aware of the amazing work the charity does for all nationalities in the area. A cancer diagnosis turns a persons’ and their family and friends world upside down emotionally and financially Cancer Care help wherever they can.Our Lynwen nurses are there where most needed providing nursing services similar to that of Macmillan Nurses .We have a lead care Nurse, Jayne Nuttal Blake, who works with a team of carers, translators and counsellors to help with communications between patients and local hospitals and with other aspects of care required before during and after diagnosis. This is all funded by donations and two charity shops which sadly have had to close some of the time during COVID.The “Gata Residential” – residents supplied all the amazing raffle prizes ranging from hampers, bottles, gifts etc..Further monies were raised by several games of barmy bingo. The Black Flame donated 5 euros of the 15 euro entrance fee which included a Christmas dinner with starter or dessert. An amazing amount of money was raised and Cancer Care are so grateful to all those who attended and took part.Without such generosity the charity would struggle to maintain it’s services. If you would like to support us further by making a donation go to cancercarejavea@outlook.com or visit one of our charity shops in Javea Parc and La Plaza, Javea
A Big Thank you to “Gata Residential” – residents
